Well,_it's_been_nearly_two_weeks_or_so_now,_and_
no-one_seems_to_be_looking_for_this_rabbit._
I've_been_scouring_the_lost_ads,_both_online_and_
in_the_newspaper,_and_registered_him_with_the_local
Humane_Society,_and_nothing!
I_don't_understand_it._He's_a_beautiful,_beautiful_
bunny._Very_mellow_and_sweet._Super_loving._I'm_
really_upset_over_his_situation,_because_I'm_now_
beginning_to_think_he_was_just_let_go,_and_who_
cares_what_happens?
Makes_me_very_angry,_the_callousness_of_people!_
Anyway,_I've_decided_I'm_not_even_going_to_look_
anymore_and_declare_him_mine.
I've_named_him_Raisin_Bun,_and_as_of_today_he's_
been_declared_bun_#4.
He's_a_wonderful_addition_to_our_bunny_family._I_
can't_believe_how_this_little_guy_just_kind_of_
"dropped_out_of_the_sky"_on_us,_and_I_wasn't_
looking_for_another_rabbit,_at_all,_but_I_can't_give_
him_up_now,_lol!
So_that's_how_Raisin's_story_starts_and_ends_with_
us,_ . |

You_guys_haven't_seen_any_of_my_guys_yet,_and_
I've_been_on_this_forum_awhile_now!_
I'm_having_issues_w/air-miles_and_UPS,_'cause_I_

and_STILL_I'm_waiting_for_the_darned_thing,_and_
I'm_just_being_stubborn._I_won't_buy_one,_when_I_

Hehe dont worry, I don't even own my own camera since it froze in Germany a few years back, so I only post pics if I get my hands on someone elses.
Raisin Bun is a gorgeous name...it is strange that such a sweet rabbit hasn't got people searching for it, but I'm really glad he came to the right person. Congratulations on your new addition _________________

Thanks_rachel,
I_know_it's_strange,_but_you_know,_there's_a_story
behind_this_bunny,_and_I_have_felt_from_the_very_
beginning_that_the_people_I_got_him_from_were_not
being_truthful_in_how_they_say_they_came_by_this_
sweetheart.
The_woman_I_spoke_to_said_that_her_ex_was_riding
his_bike_by_the_river,_and_he_could_hear_this_sound
behind_him._He_looked_down,_and_there_was_this_
bunny_chasing_him,_and_was_actually_keeping_up_
with_him,_and_he_was_going_pretty_fast.
He_had_to_stop,_and_pick_him_up,_and_carried_him_
the_rest_of_the_way_home.
That's_the_story_she_gave,_but_I_don't_believe_her.
What_I_think_is_that_Raisin_was_actually_THEIR_
OWN_rabbit,_and_they_didn't_want_him_anymore,
_so_they_tried_to_dump_him,_and_the_rabbit_was_
chasing_him_because_his_owner_was_LEAVING_HIM,
alone_and_in_a_scary_place,_or_he_had_been_
dumped_a_day_or_so_before,_and_Raisin_saw_him_
come_by_and_gave_chase._Something_like_that.
I_think_he_had_a_guilty_conscience_when_the_rabbit
chased_him,_so_he_brought_him_back_home.
Then_they_put_an_ad_online_saying_that_they_found
this_rabbit,_and_can't_keep_him,_and_if_someone_
doesn't_come_soon,_her_ex_is_going_to_put_him_
back_outside,_b/c_he_doesn't_like_rabbits.
Excuse_me!?!
He_saves_the_rabbit,_then_wants_him_back_outside?
Surely_there_are_more_humane_ways,_and_we_all_
know_there_are!
Supporting_my_theory_is_when_I_went_to_pick_him_
up,_I_noticed_that_where_they_live,_very_close_to_
the_river,_there_are_many_wild_rabbits,_so_I_guess_
they_figured_he'd_just_go_with_them,_or_something.
I_don't_know._Maybe_I'm_just_being_too_suspicious,
just_because_he_is_so_sweet,_and_I_know_for_sure
that_if_I_lost_this_rabbit,_I'd_be_heartbroken,_and_
I'd_be_looking_under_every_rock_and_bush_for_him.
And_lost_and_scared_bunnies_don't_just_chase_
strange_people_on_bikes_for_nothing._That's_what_
was_so_fishy_to_me_from_the_very_start.
The_rabbit_did_what?
Chased_you_down_on_the_bike_trail?
Hmmmm.
Anyway,_all_that_doesn't_matter,_
b/c_he's_home_now.
Sorry_for_the_long_post!_
I_just_had_to_let_that_out._ |

| that's awesome that you are going to keep him, I too just found a bunny a few weeks ago. It is soo sad that people think they can just dump these poor animals. |

I'll be honest when you first posted the story that my thought was maybe the people who posted the rabbit as "found" had really owned it to begin with/wanted someone else to take it...
I mean maybe I'm wrong... but generally people who take in animals are the sort who will also keep them or at least take good care of them in the meantime, not threaten to turn them loose again. It just doesn't add up, plus with the inconsistencies with what they told you it doesn't look hopeful that it was a lost bun.
And temperment doesn't necessarily mean that he was or was not neglected, cause Snug is a little sweet mushball and he was living in some guy's dormroom when TJ got him where there were rowdy parties and he was pretty much ignored. So I'd like to think that because he's so sweet he had a great home but unfortunately that might not be true.
But who knows... that may be true or not, but regardless he will definitely have a good home now and that's what is important _________________

Yeah,_Snug,_you're_right._It_doesn't_matter_to_me_
anymore_what_his_background_was,_b/c_now_he's_
here,_and_he's_okay.
Wherever_he_was,_(and_I_still_think_with_them),_he
wasn't_cared_for_anyway,_'cause_most_of_the_smell
and_dirt_on_him_was_underneath,_and_all_of_the_
white_fur_is_stained_yellow,_so_this_was_a_bunny_
who_didn't_get_out_of_his_cage_very_much,_and_a_
not_very_clean_one_at_that.
I_did_end_up_giving_him_a_butt-bath_with_baby_
shampoo,_and_most_of_the_smell_and_some_of_the
yellow_came_out,_but_I_was_trying_to_work_very_
fast,_couldn't_take_the_time_to_soak_him_or_any-
thing,_but_at_least_he_smells_nicer_anyway!
Well,_their_loss_is_my_gain,_so_it's_all_good. |

Ah yes, the way of loving something I'm just happy that he has a good home, and one that he deserves!
Snug had the same problem with being smelly at first, we didn't have the facilities to give him a bath so we ended up using a spray bottle with some baby soap mixed into it and then spraying him with clean water after, towel drying him and then blow drying him on the low setting with a travel dryer. That got out the surface-level stink. His underside was all yellow and his feet especially, but they became much less-so as soon as his cage was consistently cleaned and then when I took him, the cage I keep him in has a drop-down floor on the bottom so he's never in contact with his litter/pee at all and it took probably a few months for the yellow to completely shed out (I am quite proud of his bright white feet now! lol). I think the stink went away within a few weeks, but I don't think he was as bad off as your bun sounded like when he was kept with them. (Plus it helps that he decided to break into a box of dryer sheets one day, then he smelled like Downey for a week ) _________________

I must admit, I also thought the whole thing smelt as bad as poor little Raisin apparently did when you found him!
I mean, a bunny in that situation would probably be absolutely traumitized, and it would be totally against its natural instinct to follow a funny, fast-moving whirring thing with a great big potential predator on it...
But never mind, sounds like hes got a good home now!
Well done! _________________

Well that's just the thing, isn't it?
A rabbit out on it's own, freaked out, is going to just
randomly chase this guy on a bike?
Come on!
They would have been better off to just fess up and say
they don't want the rabbit anymore. No shame in that, as long as they do right by the animal and find another
suitable home for it. I mean, it's not that hard.
They made themselves look like total idiots! The lengths
people will go to sometimes amazes me. |

ooh! you got your puter fixed!
sorry, just hit me.
Seems that some people are just not.... caring, i suppose. In the way that we all are - or at least seem to be from the way everyone on here cares for their animals. _________________
